Bistro L'Hermitage

Service was ok but they over booked for 2020 St. Valentine day. Tables were so closed together it was not private. Understanding of that but what was insulting was when we said we liked the wine they offered to sell us a bottle. They charged sixty dollars for a 15 dollar bottle. 10 or 15 dollars above might be ok but $45? Was rude. Although last valentine was a wonderful experience this year Experience has Us looking for a new place for 2021.

I called asking if they offer take out. The woman on the phone was very rude and not helpful what’s so ever. It made me so frustrated. It’s shame.

My words will fall short with this one. I absolutely loved this Mother’s Day invitation. It was more than I ever expected and it is definitely worth every dollar.

Amazing! I can not say enough good things. Our family met for dinner here after a funeral. The staff went out of their way to accommodate us. The ambiance is wonderful--cozy and impeccably decorated. The service was top notch. The food was delicious! (And they were able to accommodate my gluten free needs.) And the wine selection was superb. Highly recommend!

I love this place but unfortunately this past visit was the worst experience ever. I had a bridal Lunch with my BF that’s getting married, the mother of the Bride and her sister and after I paid the waiter comes back and tells me “my manager sent me back to ask what did I did wrong ? “ why you only paid me 10% I was like what in the world ?? Mind me all he did was ask for the order and other people served the food. I had to call the manger after I left. This had never happened to me in my life and Worst of all on front of Company !!! Not sure how much he though his Time was worth waiting on us!! I am so disappointed.

Great food. Great service. Dennis and Trisha waited on us this past Friday for our anniversary dinner and made the experience great. Classy atmosphere but also makes you feel like you’re family when you’re there. We will definitely be back. We had an early reservation which was nice because by the time we left the place was packed. Small parking lot so don’t drive a big car if possible.

Friendly staff and delicious

How do you know if you have an incredible meal? You are still talking about it the next day. I started with the potato leak soup, which was outstanding. I had the special - veal with crab stuffed shrimp and parmesan polenta. Fun evening with friends. I can’t believe it took us so long to find this spot. Highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing! Food was wonderful, authentic and delicious! Service was spectacular. Highly recommend Bistro L'Hermitage to anyone, especially the 5 course meal! Living in Europe for years this was like a flash back to that way of life. Thank you for a fabulous experience.

We were completely blown away. The management and staff were unbelievably welcoming and accommodating. We celebrated our parents 60th wedding anniversary. We were delighted to see such an amazingly beautiful table set for 20 people. With special menus and privately arranged flower arrangement. The food was absolutely delicious. We had a few family members with special dietary needs who were met with discreet and excellent service. This will definitely be a restaurant we return to when we find ourselves in the Occoquan area.

We had a lovely lunch on December 15th. Food was tasty and large servings. We ordered the chicken Reuben, omelette and eggs Benedict. Dessert was excellent. I loved my almond tart. Felt the Christmas spirit with the decorations. Service was great. I would recommend this French restaurant. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Really overrated. The friendliness was phony and obsequious. The service was rushed. The food was undercooked: shrimp and brussel sprouts. Ugh. I did like the goat cheese and eggplant salad although it was a bit mushy. Chicken boring and not tender. Can't see that I'd ever go back or recommend this place.

I would give 10 stars if I could. Impeccable service. Grand but comfortable atmosphere. Gracious host/owner. Incomparable food. Go there as soon as you can!

My wife and I went here to celebrate our first Christmas together and it was wonderful. The service was amazing, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was cozy.

A hidden little gem of a restaurant with impeccable service and great atmosphere. Starters are so impressive that they could stand alone as meals at most other establishments. I'm going back solely for the French onion soup specifically and that bread basket. The Entrecôte was perfectly cooked (ask for medium if medium rare is preference normally). The seasoning on every single bite was near perfection. I'm gonna say the best steak I've been served in the entire metro area was made by a French bistro.

Had a wonderful lunch with two friends today, celebrating a retirement from Federal service. Fabulous place to mark a special event. The staff did not disappoint! The Bistro is a gem. Ambiance, food, staff that is attentive ...and gives you space to visit with your besties! A favorite!

Great atmosphere and excellent staff and management. We had our company Christmas Party there and everything was well above expectations (considering 5 stars to begin with). I wish I could give more stars. I would give this place a definite 10 stars if I could.Now don't get me started about the fine cuisine...it was so delicious and plentiful. My only regret is that I don't live close by. If i did, I would be there practically everyday! The food is beyond delicious that I can't describe it other than to say that it is soooooooooooooooooooo good. Plus it's a rarity that you feel like family when spending the night out dining but I never felt so much comfort before than I have at this establishment.I'll finish with this. If you want excellent food, a great atmosphere, and excellence all around, look no further! This is the place for you!

We tried the roasted duck breast, the rack of lamb, and the red snapper, all were excellent though the duck will set a new bar for me for life. The wine list is extensive and well curated. We had the apple tart and berry crepe for dessert with coffee, the perfect way to end a perfect meal.

Beyond a Culinary experience. Love experienced with food and location. I’d get married again and marry this food ( to the same wife😎) Just happiness.

Bistro L’Hermitage is absolutely amazing!!!The service is 10/10, that alone is enough for an amazing review, but the ambiance is also 10/10! Oh, wait it’s an AMAZING RESTAURANT as well!!! The lobster bisque is to DIE FOR! So rich, so creamy, sooooo good!The staff is absolutely amazing! They are courteous, attentive and sweet! We have NEVER had a bad experience. This is absolutely favorite restaurant. It is a perfect local for a romantic evening, for a special night, for any occasion. We could not recommend it higher.

This was our first time here and we were not disappointed. The ambiance was quaint and romantic and was conducive to making friends with customers at other tables which we did. I was on crutches during our visit and the staff was very accommodating. The owner himself even came out to ensure my comfort.I ordered the call liver which paired nicely with Pinot noir. The sauce was succulent! The common thing I heard everyone else in the restaurant saying was "wow I love this sauce" regardless of what they ordered. My wife had the halibut and paired it with Riesling which was delicious. The fish was well seasoned but not overdone. We had the trio for dessert which didn't disappoint and finally we finished up with an excellent condition of cappuccino.Highly recommend!

Compliments to the chef! Accommodating to a birthday party of 18. The service was fantastic as the food was unforgettable with an array of wine selections. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection and the lobster oscar was full of flavor. A new take on fine dinning. This place beats Morton's or Ruth's Chris by far.Note: allergies? They also accommodated to butter allergies.

You will miss it if you have not been here before. My brother in-law made reservations for my sister, 2 of our very close friends and I for mothers day celebrations. (we celebrated this past Sunday on 5/19). It's beautiful and very well placed. The ambience is great, food and drinks are to die for. After getting seated, our waiter came over promptly and started us off with mimosas. He then came and got our meal orders (he was very knowledgeable on the food and drinks). I ordered the flounder with risotto and highly recommend it. Our meals came out promptly, hot and tasted exquisite! (We were all happy with our food) He later recommended martinis that were out of this world (kudos to the bartender). It was a very nice afternoon and we felt welcome and very well taken care of. Would highly recommend it, this place is a must try! Will definitely be coming back.

The place is a hidden gem in NOVA. The second you arrive on the premises, you are greeted by lovely music playing in the parking lot. Immediately upon entry, you are welcomed by the host and shown to your table. Service is impeccable! Food is some of the best French cuisine in the area.

Went there for my birthday this week for the first time. Service was outstanding, food was great, quiet and romantic atmosphere. I love that they do free coat check too. Will go back for Vday :-)

By far the best restaurant in Occoquan. The food is downright spectacular and the wine list isamazing. The champagne risotto is absolutely out of this world. It’s not cheap, but it’s worth every penny. Great place for any special occasion. It is loud and crowded though, not particularly intimate.

I meet with friends this nice place quite a bit! This is my favorite place to to have a good dinner. I go to this spot frequently. The food is excellent, the workers are friendly and the charge is good. I enjoy being in this place over a decent lunch.

The food is tasty, the service is great and celebrating my birthday in style at this French bistro was classic. Loved everything.

Traditional French and American dishes, wonderfully prepared and so delicious. We are always pleased with the great food, drinks, and the stellar service. The manager/owner is friendly and engaging. Great atmosphere!!! Cozy, lush and a bit quirky. (Not crazy about the choice of music though.. Wish they’d switch it up a bit with some instrumentals. Just saying..)

This place has excellent service and tasty meals. One of my favourite places around town. The meals came out fast and the rates are inexpensive. Recommended.

I love this place! They have tasty meals, they have a rich menu, The cook in that spot is a real authority in the kitchen, I enjoy a lot tasting all their dishes. The dishes are always good, the attitude towards the customers is helpful. I often go to this place and I not even once was disappointed. I recommend it to all my friends.

First time here with my wife. Our server Jimmy was excellent, I couldn't have been happier with the service we recieved. And the food, the food is top notch and delicious. I had the rack of lamb and I kid you not, I started to cry. It was perfectly tender, the lamb sausage was perfect seasoned, the baby peppers were excellent as well. The manager Matt was involved with as many customers are possible, made our visit just that much more positive. If I could rate this place a 10 it would be an 11.

Worth the trip and the money! L'Hermitage is the diamond of Northern Virginia. From walking into the door to the last course, they create an environment which whisks you away to Europe for a fine dining experience that you don't need to be royalty to enjoy. Don't wait for a special occasion to enjoy a meal at L'Hermitage.

Classy, friendly and the food is to die for. Aesthetically pleasing.
